The Dangers of Drinking and Driving During The Holidays
The potential for a drunk driving accident to occur increases substantially during the holidays. Work parties and family events often involve alcoholic beverages which create relaxing environments that are conducive to drinking beyond the legal limit.
Most Common Causes of Car Accidents During The Winter Holidays
Two of the most dangerous days for drivers across Atlanta are December 23 and December 24 as cited by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. In fact, the days leading up to and following Christmas see approximately 20 percent more car accidents than any other holiday including Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day.
Drivers are scrambling to pick up last-minute gifts, company parties that present excessive amounts of alcohol and the increase of drivers on roadways create significant hazards for those traveling during the holidays.
